First things first, good morning/afternoon. Couple of quick things before we get started. I hope that you and your family are well. Please make sure that you are staying inside as much as possible. If you haven't already, I would suggest keeping a vlog or journal; remember, you are now the primary source. Sooo...AP Exams. Not sure what they will look like. AP teachers are going to have a meeting soon and I will let you know what I find out. I will go live tomorrow for both classes during your class time. This does not mean that 1st can't be in 4th or vice versa, That is just when I will be live. I will post a link on Colespace. It will not necessary to have video and for the love of everything, mute your mic until you need to speak. With that being said, here is the Monday Song and then your assignment. Now to your activity. Be prepared to discuss the following question (live):
Why did the South loose / North win the Civil War? Look at advantages and disadvantages. Also look at the battle strategy of each side. Below are some notes that might help you out, but feel free to research as needed. First things first, good morning/afternoon. Today is a simple, low stress day. Just finish up your vocab quiz, you can post it here in the comments or on Thursday's comments. Your call. Just email me if you have any questions. Finish any other activities as well. There are a few of you that I have not "seen" online. I will start calling home next week to the households of those I have not heard from. Please pass this little tidbit around in your group chats. I am working on going live for some instruction. I might reach out to a couple of you to help me establish some procedures for that. All in all, I am proud of how you are handling everything thus far. Keep it up. Now, for the Friday Song: Ahhhh. Thank you Rebecca Black.
First things first, good morning/afternoon. I hope that you are all doing well and keeping up with your studies. I am working on ways that we can go live and I am setting up a Twitter feed. I will send you that info ASAP.
So, lets talk quiz: Pick 15 words, 5 from before the Civil War, 5 from during the war, and 5 from reconstruction. Your choice. You are to explain and demonstrate to me that you understand not only the definition, but how these things/people are connected. Find some way, I don't care how, to show me that you can explain the connections. For example: John Brown's Raid + Election of 1860 = Secession Yup, See that, I made a math equation out of vocabulary. Think about this a bit, all you have to do is show me what you know. The format is your choice. You have all day today and tomorrow to complete this. First things first, good morning/afternoon. I am going to give this a dry run. You will need your Office 365 info that can be found in studentvue. There is a link above the login if you can't find your login.
Take notes on the video below. Let me know if this works. Just post in the comments. First things first, good morning/afternoon. Looks like we will be out, at least, through the 31st. So it is up to you to keep up with your assignments and lessons. To that end, finish up your vocabulary ASAP. Here is today's activity. Below, in the comments list the 5 top reasons sectionalism led to the Civil War and explain your answer. DO NOT just plus 1 previous comments. Make your own decisions using yesterday's notes and your vocabulary.
Due by class time tomorrow. Have a great day APUSH classes. Work on your vocabulary. It is due on Thursday. You might be asking "How." Don't worry, I'm working on that. Take notes on the causes of the Civil War using the button above.
